The Partners for Plant-Based Declaration
The Partners for Plant-Based Declaration is a cross-sector call to put the competitiveness of Europe’s plant-based foods value chain at the heart of EU economic, agricultural and food policy.
Launched in December 2025 and initiated by EAPF together with Starch Europe, Plant-Based Foods Europe and the European Vegetable Protein Association, it has been signed by more than 101 organisations — companies, farmer organisations, researchers and civil-society groups from across the food system. This demonstrates the movement’s breadth, extending from the field to the consumer, and showing that it is not limited to a single-issue mobilisation, but rather a call for structural change.
The signatories share one conviction: with the right framework, plant-based foods can strengthen Europe’s strategic autonomy, open new and higher-value markets for farmers, mobilise investment, create quality jobs and support healthier diets — all while reinforcing the Single Market.
The Declaration asks EU institutions to deliver a dedicated Plant-Based Foods Value Chain Action Plan and an ambitious EU Protein Strategy, backed by coherent food, trade and dietary policies.
The invitation stays open to any organisation that wants to help build a competitive, resilient European food system.
